| CITIZENS COMMUNITY BANK INTRODUCES KIDPOWER TO RIDGEWOOD, NEW JERSEY |
SEARCH IS ON FOR KIDPOWER CLUB SAVINGS ACCOUNT SPOKESPERSON
Ridgewood, NJ, August 24th, 2007 — Citizens Community Bank of Ridgewood is introducing
a new program designed to teach children how to save money and become accustomed to managing a savings account. Called the KidPower Club Savings Account, the program is designed for children from five years old and up. The annual percentage rate on a KidPower Club Savings Account is 3.05% APY, and there’s an added incentive to open one up: Everyone doing so gets an automatic $10.00 from CCB absolutely free.
Richard C. Lanza, President of CCB, further explains the KidPower concept: “One of the most valuable things a child can learn in today‘s society is how to save money. Learning how to manage and grow a savings account is a good way to avoid debt later in life. If a child learns good monetary skills and habits while young, the odds are favorable that he or she will have a good baseline ability to carry into adulthood. We at CCB fully support that concept, and that’s how the KidPower Club was born.”
Enrolling is simple. Children accompanied by a parent or guardian can do so at the bank in just minutes. And there is no limit to how much a KidPower Club Savings Account holder may deposit.
According to President Lanza, CCB is going all-out on promoting KidPower. “We’re looking for a spokesperson,” he said, “between the ages of five and fifteen years old. Anyone in that age group is eligible and can apply for the position. All the kids have to do is submit an essay explaining why we should consider them for the job. They can bring the essay into the bank and drop it off, or they can complete the process online on the CCB Website.” Lanza went on to say that, in addition to being fun, there were some serious prizes to be won as well. “The person we finally pick to be our spokesperson will be featured in all our KidPower Club advertising,” he explained. “The Grand Prize winner receives $1,000 deposited into a KidPower Savings Club account, plus one year as the CCB KidPower Savings Club kid in advertising, promotions, and more. The Second Prize winner receives $500 deposited into a KidPower Savings Club account. The Third Prize winner gets $250 deposited into a KidPower Savings Club account. And even those kids who do compete but don’t win the actual prizes will win if they open their own KidPower Savings Account. Because they’ll be doing something good for their future: saving.”
Essays for the KidPower Club spokesman contest must be 250 words in length, and written in the entrant’s own words. Deadline for entries is December 31, 2007. Winners will be notified by telephone, e-mail, and/or the U.S. Mail.
In addition to their KidPower Club program, CCB provides a full range of services, including free personal checking, NOW checking, special checking for accounts with higher balances, telephone banking, savings accounts, holiday and vacation clubs, CDs, ATMs, safe deposit boxes, and debit cards, each of them customized for individuals and business. For those who prefer to bank online, CCB offers a full suite of Internet services as well.
