| CITIZENS COMMUNITY BANK HOSTS BEST-SELLING, WALL STREET ICON JIM
LEBENTHAL BOOK SIGNING |
Ridgewood, NJ, June 8th,
2006 — There was a
crowd even larger than usual in Citizens Community Bank recently.
And they weren’t only at the Bank to open one of Citizens
Community Bank’s high-yield Power checking accounts or
investing in one of the Bank’s highly-competitively Certificates
of Deposit. They were also interested in having the legendary
Jim Lebenthal sign copies of his latest book, Confessions
Of A Municipal Bond Salesman.
 |
 |
Mr. Lebenthal took the
opportunity to speak to admirers and autograph their
books as part of an event designed by Citizens Community
Bank to bring that special touch to Ridgewood residents.
Judging by the turnout, the event was a resounding
success, as Mr. Lebenthal signed books and chatted
with fans in Ridgewood’s Hometown Bank for several
hours before having to leave for another engagement
elsewhere.
In Confessions
Of A Municipal Bond Salesman,
the reader can follow Jim Lebenthal's life journey from
Hollywood reporter to renowned bond salesman. Each chapter
consists of vivid stories in which Lebenthal recounts his
|
successes and setbacks, as he worked to
build his family business into one
of the best-known municipal bond firms in America. Throughout
the book, Lebenthal distills his experiences to help you apply
what he's learned to your own careers and life. You'll benefit
from Lebenthal's unique advice, as he touches on issues such
as recognizing opportunity, ethics and morality at work, the
secrets to selling, and avoiding procrastination. Written in
an accessible manner and delivered with a dose of Lebenthal's
trademark humor, Confessions of
a Municipal Bond Salesman offers
an entertaining and engaging look at this incredible individual,
and shows you how to make the most out of your own life.
In
the world of finance, Jim Lebenthal is best known for making
tax-free municipal bonds both understandable and desirable, by
attaching a face—mainly his—and a personality to
this otherwise dry-as-dust financial instrument. But that's not
all he's done. Before getting into his family's bond business,
Lebenthal had some of the most glamorous jobs in America, as
a Life magazine Hollywood correspondent, a filmmaker for Disney—receiving
an Academy Award nomination in 1959 for best short feature—and
an advertising copywriter for Ogilvy & Mather and Young & Rubicam.
Part professional guide, part personal memoir, Confessions
of a Municipal Bond Salesman takes you inside
Lebenthal's world as he learns the bond business from his mother,
battles the Social Security tax on municipal bonds, takes on
New York's many fiscal crises, and ultimately passes the Lebenthal & Company torch
to his daughter Alexandra.
